How to register for participation in SHORTS 03.07.14

How to register for participation in SHORTS (if you participate in the Festival for the first time)?

 

  ATTENTION! Application for participation are filled out by the AUTHOR of the Work (director), who states his/her data. Registration via representatives is NOT permitted.

   Press the “Application” 

  2. Enter the “User Name” and “Password”

     Confirm the “Password”

  3. Press “Continue”, the page will be refreshed.

 

     * if the page is not refreshed, it is possible that:

              - There is another user with the same name

              - Your passwords do not match

 

   4. Fill out the required fields marked with an * on the Questionnaire page

   5. Fields in English are required for the English version of the website.

   6 ! At least one social network account is required.

   7. Please, state your cell or landline phone number, it is required for urgent communication and ONLY the Festival administration can see it.

The phone numbers are NOT available to the website visitors.

   8. Confirm that you are over 16 years old and that you give your consent to the personal data processing.

 

Press “Continue”, the page will be refreshed.

     * if the page is not refreshed:

              - you have missed a required field

              - you have not stated any social network accounts

 

      * Please, note that if no social network account is given and you press “Continue”, you will remain on the same page and you will have to add a photo and confirm your age again.

After the Questionnaire is filled out, you can add your work for participation in the Festival immediately or do it later according to the instruction.

 

How to send a movie / animation film to SHORTS? (filling out the data about the work sent to the Festival for participation)

 

 

Select one of the main nominations: movie / animation*

     * other categories do not participate in the competition and take part in the Festival as “hors concours”

2. State the movie / animation title

3. State the length

     * Only movies of 15 minutes length or less are accepted for the competition; longer movies take part in the Festival as “hors concours”

4. State the date of creating the work 

5. In the “Link to watch the movie” field enter the link to your work on YouTube or Vimeo.Access to the link can be restricted. If the movie is on Vimeo and it is password access only, state the password in the “Requests / miscellaneous” field.

6. Add the link to your work with a cloud storage service (Yandex Disk, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) to the “Link to download the movie” field.

     * do not delete the work from the cloud storage service until the end of the Festival

     * do not send the link to an archived file

     * the film quality shall be between 720p and 1920 p

     * the movie format is mov or mp4; avi and vob ARE NOT accepted

7. Briefly describe the content of your work, its tagline in the “Summary” field

8. Add three (3) screenshots of your work (from its beginning, middle and end)

9. State awards, if any

10. Confirm granting the copyright to the Festival

     

Press “Send the application”

 

* ! We recommend filling out sections for participation in other nominations after sending the application. 

 

The application shall be examined by the website administration from the point of view of its completeness and correctness. The questionnaire / application status can be checked on the “I am in SHORTS” page.

 

ATTENTION! One author can submit for participation in the Festival three (3) works maximum in the same year.   

 

The website administration examines questionnaires starting with August the 1st, once a week. The results of examination shall be automatically send to the e-mail address that you gave us. 

 

If the website administrator has any comments, you will receive a message with a list of comments.

 

You can change the questionnaire at any time, but the questionnaire shall undergo a repeated examination and the movie will not be available for voting until the changes are examined by the website administrator.

 

! We do not recommend making any changes to the questionnaire or other data during the voting period. If such changes are necessary, please, inform the Festival administration about them by e-mail: reg@shortsfilm.com

 

How to participate in nominations: cameraperson, actor/actress, original soundtrack, poster, trailer?

 

1. Press “I am in SHORTS”

2. Enter “My works” tab

3. Press “Change”

4. Select the required nomination in the “Nominations” section and press “Participate”

5. Fill out all the graphs

6. Press “Send the application”

The application shall be examined by the website administration from the point of view of its completeness and correctness. The questionnaire / application status can be checked on the “I am in SHORTS” page.

 

How to add a movie if you are in SHORTS already?

 

If you have already registered or participated in the Festival earlier, you can add your new movie without registration or repeated filling out of the questionnaire.

 

1. Press “Enter” and enter the “User Name” and “Password” that you have used for the registration earlier. Press “Enter”.

* if you do not remember the password, press “Forgot the password?”
* if you do not remember the e-mail that you have used for the registration, contact us at reg@shortsfilm.ru

 

2. Your name shall appear instead of the “Enter” button, click there.

3. Select “I am in SHORTS”

 

4. Press the “Add a movie” button in the “My Works” section, fill out a questionnaire according to the instruction “How to add a movie to SHORTS?”

 

* If your contact data changed, update the information in the “My Questionnaire” field. After making changes to the questionnaire, your movies will for some time disappear from the website. After the administrator examines the questionnaire, they will reappear.

 

 

Description of the dashboard sections

 

“My Works” section

- Adding a movie to the competition for the current year

• Adding / editing a nomination

• Information about the works that participated in the Festival earlier

 

“My Questionnaire” section 

• For editing the data in the questionnaire, if required

 

Section “Admitted in the year ____” 

Shows the movies admitted to participation in the Festival.

 

“Voting” section 

The list and the voting functionality will be available here from October the 7th till November the 1st of the current year.

Each movie in each stated nomination will be rated on the scale from 1 to 5.

 

The left side of the tabs shows the SHORTS events calendar and the Festival news.
